AWS Certified AI Practitioner
Foundational AWS credential covering AI, ML and generative AI concepts, use cases, and responsible use on Amazon Web Services—without requiring you to build models.
Why it matters
- Common first AI badge for people already in the AWS ecosystem.
- Emphasizes when to use Bedrock and related services versus classical ML.
- Pairs well with later builder certs such as Machine Learning Engineer - Associate.
Key ideas
- Foundational exam
- AWS AI services
- Responsible AI on AWS
The AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) is aimed at people who use AI/ML on AWS more than they implement training pipelines. Expect questions on problem framing, foundation models, prompt patterns, RAG at a conceptual level, cost and security, and responsible AI. It is not a substitute for shipping retrieval quality or agent evals. Prepare from the official exam guide and AWS Skill Builder paths, then map each domain back to concepts on this site. Recertification is time-bounded; treat the badge as proof you can talk the AWS AI vocabulary with product and security partners.
